An Evening to Benefit Doctors Without Borders
We have all been hearing news reports predicting a million new cases of Ebola by early 2015. What can a Boston restaurant do? Help us assist Doctors Without Borders bring crucial medical supplies and aid workers to the areas hardest hit. With the cooperation of our generous customers, a similar event at Picco sent over $7,000 to Partners in Health, which worked in Haiti after the earthquake there. With your collaboration, we hope to meet and exceed that.
On Monday, November 10th, Picco will host an evening of all you can eat and drink for a minimum donation of $75 per person. All proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.
We are offering three different seatings:
5:00pm – 6:45pm (arrival 5-5:30)
6:45pm – 8:30pm (arrival 6:30-7)
8:30pm – 10:00pm (arrival 8:15-8:45)
Picco will provide all the pizza, salad, and ice cream you can eat, and all the beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages you can drink. We expect local wine and beer companies to be on hand to pour and discuss their offerings. There will also be a raffle with items donated by other members of the Boston community.
Please call or email us (with “DWB Fundraiser” in the subject line) to purchase tickets, or buy your tickets in person at the restaurant. We expect to sell out quickly, so please buy your tickets soon to ensure your participation and help Doctors Without Borders.
Thanks and we’ll see you there!
Doctors Without Borders is an incredible organization that is currently on the front lines of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. They also have many continuing efforts in impoverished nations and war torn regions. They are often the only group to offer any medical services in the most dangerous areas of the world. In addition to providing medical services, they also supply water infrastructure and medical training so communities can continue to provide for themselves. With the Ebola outbreak growing, their funds are depleting rapidly. This is an organization where almost every cent goes directly to their efforts. They are staffed almost entirely by volunteers.
